Patrick Hogan

I remember, when I was about five and James was about ten, him standing on his knees so that he would be on the same level as me and walking around me saying goosey, goosey, gander – perhaps an early incursion into the world of poetry.  I remember it as being great fun.

In childhood, older siblings may sometimes be a source of joy but also sometimes be a source of grief.  I have to say that James never caused me any grief and there is a lot to be said for that.
